In "Forms Enveloping Forms" I designed a pavilion to house the works of Ruth Asawa in the context of Cloud Gardens in Toronto. I chose her hanging wire sculptures as the artwork displayed. Scattered throughout the gardens are three teardrop pavilions, similar to the shape of the loops the wire makes in her sculptures. Each pavilion differs in the way it plays with light. "Opaque" is a direct artificial light, casting a shadow that is the same image as the sculpture, "Transparent" is the largest pavilion, located in the centre where light flows freely, "Perforated" is a combination of the two, where only certain panels are removed allowing natural light to strike the sculpture from different angles. The sculpture hangs in the centre of each pavilion.
